It is amazing to me how much activity there is in the online wine world - bloggers, wine communities, wine sites, winery sites...and Twitter, the online phenomenon where everyone with a thought can share it with others who may or may not care. If you do care, follow me on Twitter and let's start up a discussion about wine.

Introducing Leland Cellars...

On Saturday, August 14, 2010
I haven't talked much about this over the last two years, maybe only a couple times - and not even sure why - but, we just bottled our first vintage as Leland Cellars, a 2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Haven't tasted it yet, but wanted to publish some pictures of the packaging that my wife designed. Not a bad Saturday...

  1. Joshiemac Said,

Great label--clean simple layout with a good use of type.

Where did the fruit come from?

Must be great to drink your own wine!

  2. Robert Dwyer Said,

    Dude- that's awesome!

Agree with @joshiemac I love the label and the sentiment. So well done. Would love to try some one day. I'll give it a provisional 99+ points. :)

  3. hey guys. thanks for the nice comments. my wife did all the design and i think it turned out great. i like the provisional 99... :-)

the fruit is from rutherford in napa. we also have an '09 in barrel that's from oakville fruit - so far, it's coming together really nicely - hopefully going to be a good one, but we're not bottling that until next summer at the earliest.

  4. Jeff Said,

Love the label. Kudos to your wife ... clean design is good design.

Do you need my mailing address to send a sample? ;-)

  5. thanks, jeff. we like it too and even more so now that we've seen it all come together on the bottle. been a really fun project to take on and now we're even more psyched to get at the '09 we have sitting in barrel...

i will definitely send you a sample. let me wait until the heat dies down and i'll get one off to you. we're not selling it, but would love to get your thoughts.
